Monday Night Mini-Workshop Series

All workshops run 6-8 p.m.

June 4th, 2007 Session #1 Intro to Autism – This workshop will introduce a basic overview of theory and methods to introduce an effective ABA program.

June 11th,2007 Session #2 Promoting Speech and language with children with Autism. This workshop will provide strategies to develop and expand communication skills.

June 18th, 2007 Session #3 - Toilet Training

This workshop will present a variety of treatment programs designed to target issues with toileting. Topics discussed in the area of toilet training will include urination training, bowel training, initiating, requesting and independence.

July 9th , 2007 Session #4. Prepare Your Autistic Child for the Dentist

This workshop will help you develop a program to help you have a successful dental visit from every step along the way to a dental exam and cleaning!

July 16th, 2007 Session #5- Using Prompting procedures.

Prompting is a very useful tool when done intentionally and then faded as soon as possible. This presentation will review the basic types of prompting as well as guide you through the implementation of using prompting effectively.

July 23rd Session #6– Effective Reinforcement

What is Reinforcement? Most of the success of a typical ABA program, especially in the beginning, will be contingent upon the strength of the reinforcers. This workshop will provide information on how to implement effective reinforcement to an ABA program.

All the above workshops will be held at our Ozone Park Facility.
